General Hospital's Dajuan Johnson Opens Up With GHOFS About New Character, Asher Caldwell

R. Dajuan, I want to thank you for allowing GHOFS to be the first to interview you since your debut on General Hospital! The introduction of your new character, Asher Caldwell was exciting not only for the possibility of the dynamic between Michael, Abby and Asher, but the Social Media aspect made your introduction so much fun! Were you expecting fans to take to Asher so quickly?

D. I honestly had no idea how fans would receive Asher Caldwell. I had hope, but no real clue. It's very exciting that fans have taken to him and already coming up with story lines for him. I even got a squish name the first day! That was pretty sweet. Everything I've heard of soap fans (can I call them that?) was positive -- so I was hoping for the best and I got SO much more. I'd also add live tweeting during the debut on the 29th was a lot of work, but a lot of fans chimed in and made it FUN!

R. You and I met back in 2008 when you starred in “Pedro” on MTV. You portrayed the character of Sean Sasser, partner to former MTV star Pedro Zamora, the first HIV-positive homosexual to appear a reality show on MTV. Your performance was riveting!

D. Thank you for the kind words on my portrayal of Sean Sasser in Pedro. I love and respect my work from Pedro, but I won't go into it too much because I want GH to stand alone, if that's ok?

R. You are being humble! But that is ok. Having worked now in both daytime and primetime, how would you compare daytime fans to primetime/movie fans?

D. Daytime fans vs. Primetime fans? Absolutely there's a difference. The daytime fans are very interactive and sweet! I'm really digging them. The people I've had walk up to me after Pedro aired were a little different. Sweet as well, but it was just a different story. General Hospital is fun in a different way. More make-believe if you will.

R. Dujuan, I would love to hear about how you landed the role of Asher Caldwell on GH. Were you up against several actors for the part?

D. My primetime work on Private Practice was actually one of the main reasons I landed this amazing role on General Hospital. Casting loved my character on PP! Really good to hear because most of the time we just do the work as actors not knowing if anyone will notice. I can't speak to the question of other actors up for the part of Asher Caldwell, but like ANY casting process, I'm sure the competition was stiff. Thankfully...they chose me!

R. What might we see in this summer for Asher Caldwell at ELQ? Could Asher be Michael’s nemesis in the work environment?

D. HAHAHA Everyone wants to know if Asher is going to be Michael's nemesis! Or if he's going to get with Abby! ... All very very interesting ideas. What I can say is Asher really really loves working at ELQ. The rest you'll have to tune in and check it out.

R. OK, I understand! Well, do you see a possible triangle for Asher, Michael and Abby? Buzz is already hitting Twitter! AS you said, there were even squish names for Asher and Abby during your debut on Wednesday, June 29!

D. A possible triangle for Asher, Michael & Abby...hmmm...I could only be SO lucky! Andrea Bogart is SO beautiful and a true delight to work with. The same can be said for Chad. Working with those two for a while would be an honor. Honestly. But who knows, except for the writers and producers. And they're certainly not telling me yet. All I can say is...I'm ready for whatever and am hoping to be around for a while.

R. I may be asking too soon, being knew to the canvas, but is there anyone on set you would like to work with on the set?

D. Tricky question Ms. Robin...can't tell you that yet. But, I will say I'd love to work with ALL the Quartermaines.

R. One last question, Dajuan. Is there anything you want to share with all your new fans?

General Hospital Comings and Goings

Returning today to General Hospital, Constance Towers as Helena! Helena will continue the mystery of Aiden’s paternity.

Aiden will soon be portrayed by Titus Jackson, son of Jonathan Jackson (Lucky).

We have seen the last of Lisa. Brianna Brown tweeted confirmation her last episode was June 21 saying “Gone for Good.”

Chrissy Fit – AKA Mercedes, GH’s adorable Nanny tweets to me yesterday confirming her return: “@GHOFS Yep! Starting July 15th, Mercedes will be on your #GH screen again ;)”

Although Anthony Geary is on his yearly vacation, Soap Opera Weekly reports he has pre-taped several scenes to be seen sometime during the summer.

Monica will return soon. Leslie Charleston shared on twitter recently: "Monica's back! Look for her to stir things up in July! For those of you who haven't been watching, come back!"

Although no final air date has been set, Ingo Radenmacher (Jax) will be leaving General Hospital.

Also leaving the canvas is Tyler Christopher (Nikolas). Tyler’s last airdate is this week.

A new lawyer hits town by the name of Grace Yang portrayed by Michelle Krusiec beginning July 6.

Garin Wolf Sneak Peaks for General Hospital

Garen Wolf begins his material with General Hospital the last week of July. Wolf says a smooth transition will take place, “nothing glaring, nothing jarring. But I would say the first few days are a tease, tease, tease, and then we’re off and running.”

Wolf denies he has been brought to General Hospital to wrap up the show. He explains in SOD his material will begin the last week of July.
Garin Wolf Sneak Peaks:

• We can look forward to a couple of fan favorites!
• Wolf loves Anthony. We will see Anthony veer off in a direction viewers will not expect.
• Dante and Lulu will be extremely tested. More Spencer history coming.
• Jason and Sam have something more permanent leading them down an unexpected path. (My guess is a baby?)
• Tension for Robin and Patrick leading to possible professional and personal mistrust that could place them in a dangerous situation.
• Look for Carly to eventually meet someone who will challenge her on every level. Possibly someone we have seen and it will be fun. (My guess, a possible hook-up with Shawn.
• Could we see more Jackal P.I. persona from Spinelli? Wolf loves film noir saying it makes him laugh and makes him cry. He says what is coming will be surprising.
• What Wolf has in mind for the character of Alexis is something special that only Nancy can bring to life.
