Rick Springfield Late, Late at Night...
Sixty-year old rock star, Rick Springfield (Dr. Noah Drake) announced today he is busy working on his "extremely candid" memoir to be titled Late, Late at Night. According to his publisher, Touchstone Fireside, Springfield's memoirs are scheduled to be published October 2010.
Springfield's autobiography is expected to address his long battle with depression and his career as an actor and singer, including his tenure as Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital. In 1981, Springfield signed a contract with RCA Records and recorded his Working Class Dog album. Neither Springfield, nor his agent, expected the album to do very well financially, so when Springfield was offered the role of Dr. Noah Drake on GH, he took the job.Little did anyone know, Springfield's song Jessie's Girl would hit the top
of the charts, but when it did, Springfield continued playing Dr. Noah Drake from 1981 through 1983, while simultaneously touring with his band. On GH, those were indeed some heady, good times. Luke and Laura were at the apex of their popularity, and GH had a sexy doctor with a #1 hit record and a 1982 Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for Jessie's Girl.by Spin's Vixenella
