General Hospital - From the Mags: Spinelli Runs Away 2.27.9
Sorry for not as many posts this week, daytime job sent me to Austin for a convention, I came back, and then attended an “organization workshop”. So, it’s been a hectic week for me. Hope the org workshop helps, but looking around my office right now, I’m not sure where to start!
Spinelli
Excerpts from SID
Coming up on GH, Spinelli decides to run. According to Bradford Anderson, he does not want Jason taking responsibility for everything, when Spinelli is the guilty one. “I committed these cyber crimes; it’s my fault, so no one else should have to pull me out of the fire,” laughed BA.
Agent Rayner continues to squeeze Jason to give up Sonny AND Anthony. Spinelli is the leverage for the deal. Jason doesn’t want to give up Sonny because he will leave the country. Spinelli is against putting him in that position. So, he feels it’s best to just leave town and not burden anyone else.
Spinelli doesn’t leave town without telling Maxie good-bye, but she doesn’t know he’s leaving. She’s busy with work and invites him out to dinner and a movie, but Spinelli knows he’s not going. He admires her one last time as she goes back to work – trying to get the mental picture of Maxie in his mind.
Jason, on the other hand doesn’t get a face-to-face, he gets a note from Spinelli. “Goodbye and thank you for all you’ve done, and now it’s up to me to take care of myself,” says to Bradford Anderson. “I don’t think he could just disappear out of Jason’s life, ‘I should leave a note’ – out of respect.”
Spinelli arrives on the plane and sees someone reading “Modern Algorithms” or some magazine to that nature. “Oh, the current issue of “Modern Algorithm, may I suggest [an article]? When she lowers her magazine, it’s Winifred.
Winifred makes the decision to follow Spinelli, when she saw Spinelli’s fake password and became suspicious. She heads out on the trip with him telling the FBI she is taking a leave of absence for her health. Winifred has proven herself trustworthy to Spinelli, according to BA after how she handled herself during the hospital crisis. Therefore, he trusts her to come along with him.
Spinelli makes the decision if he can’t stay put in one town, he is going to hop from place to place around the world and try to right injustices with his computer skills. Their first stop, Las Angeles where Spinelli helps the owner of a diner with his finances. The bank has been taking advantage of him (kind of), so Spinelli rearranges his bank files so he doesn’t lose his restaurant.
Spinelli’s good deed attracts the attention of a mysterious woman, Cassandra. She gives Spinelli a story of how her husband had locked her out of her funds, and she asked Spinelli to get her money back. He’s all excited, thinking this is exactly the kind of stuff he can do to “help the downtrodden”. However, it may not turn out to be the noble cause he thinks it is.
Rebecca
Excerpts from SID
Just as Nikolas backs off Rebecca somewhat, the Quartermaines and Lucky decide to move in on her.
“Nikolas will try to keep his obsession with Rebecca in check. However, he is bothered by the ease with which Lucky can be with Rebecca – a fact that makes Rebecca relax with Lucky in a way she has not been able to with Nik. Nikolas cannot understand how his brother could so easily go after a woman who looks exactly like Emily,” says Bob Guza.
Of course we all know (at this point, anyhow) that Rebecca doesn’t have any actual ties to Emily. Alexis will reinforce that fact when she reveals that her own investigation has uncovered no links between Emily and Rebecca. “Alexis cares for Nikolas, and warns him that no possible good can come from pursuing Rebecca just because she looks like Emily,” explains Guza.
However, Nik remains undeterred. Guza hints,”Nik and Rebecca will bond over a situation that will strongly evoke Emily.” At the same time, Nadine realizes she is the third wheel and she will never receive the love from Nik that he has for Emily. “She will withdraw with dignity from her relationship with Nikolas, and will remain on canvas.” Says Guza.
The Q’s on the other hand, may not act as gracefully as Nadine. They are obviously stunned by her appearance, and feel there must be some relationship between the two women. “For that reason, they would like to keep Rebecca close.” Says Guza. Edward invites Rebecca to move into the Quartermaine mansion!
Sonny and Claudia have S.E.X
Excerpts from SID
We’ve been hearing about this for weeks now, it finally is gonna happen. As I pointed out the other day, Sonny feels Claudia is a good match for her. She’s smart, beautiful and understands her business.
So, there’s not doubt when Anthony straps a bomb to his daughter, she understands it’s just business, and Sonny rushes in to rescue her. Right? “Sonny dismantles the bomb with Jason’s assistance. The bomb is wired to go off, so time is of the essence.” says Guza. Claudia pays him with a passionate kiss. “The kiss between Sonny and Claudia is relief in the heat of the moment.”
One thing leads to another, and the two of them end up making love. According to Guza, the sex between them is more real and romantic for her than it is for him, but they still enjoy each other.
Sonny still sees their relationship primarily as a business arrangement, “She’s a Zacchara, so she helps him expand his business and his territory. Though Sonny believes he and Claudia are good together, for practical reasons, he is genuinely grateful to her for siding with him against her father.”

Ric offers Sonny his help to run the Zacchara business. Don’t look for Sonny to accept! Tension between Kate and Claudia is noticed by Ric. After the Go Red ball, Maxie falls asleep in Spinelli’s room. Robin is frustrated when Patrick would rather stay home with Emma than go out to dinner with her. She suggest to Patrick they hire a nanny so she can go back to work full-time. (I say hire Mercedes!) Patrick finally agrees.
This week General Hospital revisits one of the most famous plotlines in General Hospital history: the story of BJ’s death, and how Maxie was the recipient of her heart. On Tuesday, Maxie falls asleep in Spinelli’s bed and heads into an alternate realty when she dreams BJ had lived, and she had died. Imagine Carly and Patrick unhappily married, Robin living life lonely still mourning Stone and Uncle Mac as a pitiful drunk? Johnny? Well, he’s the big-time, dangerous mob boss of Port Charles. Relieved when she wakes up from her nightmare in Spinelli’s bed, Maxie is glad to be alive. Will Maxie’s dream change her and Spinelli’s relationship?

element, BB says, “He is, but he starts to ease into it a little and makes the best of it. They end up enjoying themselves.” Maybe a little too much, with Johnny sensing it, explains B.B. The question is, will Lulu buy it when Johnny tries to convince her he doesn’t have feelings for Maxie?
The funnest thing has happened over the past couple of weeks. Over on
