General Hospital SPOILERS and RUMORS - 3.1.10 — Oooooh, Michael‘s Truth Gets Closer; and More Troubles for the Rest!

More Scoops and/or Rumors - March 1 to 5

Liz decides to get a paternity test while Helena is working on her devious plans. Liz probably tells Nik to stay away from her because Helena is stalking and harassing her. Are you wondering who the father of Liz’s baby
is? It seems like it is taking forever to find the answer... Agree? Anyway, Nik refuses to give up on a future with Liz.

L
ook for Dante to interrogate Michael. Will Michael finally “spit out” the truth to Dante about his own crime that has been covered up? Will Dante persuade Michael to go against their dad? What will Dante do when he discovers the truth about Michael’s crime? Boy, it will be a tough situation for Dante to choose between his dad and his step brother! Oy-vey!

Carly interrupts the trial. Of course, Jax tells Sonny not to ask Carly to lie for him.
Sonny appreciates Robin's support. Will Patrick support Robin even though he has resentments about Robin bolstering Sonny; or will Patrick pay more attention to Lisa’s empathy for himself?

Johnny and Ethan stick to their plans to disrupt the Corinthos business, and disrespect Jason. Lucky is trying to figure out who has been “messing around” with the Corinthos' shipments.

Kiefer is using Kristina's sympathy for him to make her come back to him. Will Kristina be insightful enough to ignore Kiefer’s manipulations? Her troubles probably will soon affect Ethan.

What’s up with Jason’s enemy... Franco? Jason fears that Franco will come back to attack him and his loved ones because he has received a “worrisome” letter from Franco “the psycho.“ What will Jason do?

Just a Rumor: I keep hearing that Steve Webber has bad news for Spinelli. Not sure what???

Coming Up Next in the Following Weeks:

Kiefer's mom, Melinda (Lisa Waltz), makes an appearance.
Skye returns to Port Charles to stir up trouble.
Maxie turns to Georgie for help.
Luke finds several of his relationships “rattled” by what Dante reveals.
Maxie's one-night stand with Franco will haunt both Maxie and Spinelli for some time.
The Cassadine and Spencer feud is back.

Fan Video of the Week (2/24/10)

This week, we take another look back at a fan favorite whose tragic end's three year anniversary is upon us. This time around, we honor the character, not the actor (who is thankfully still very much with us). Find out just who I'm talking about after the jump...

That's right, February 26th marks the three year anniversary of Dr. Alan Quartermaine's untimely death during the Metrocourt Hostage Crisis of 2007. The event occurred during a period when General Hospital execs were minimizing the role of some of the older GH vets, and it was met with such hostility from fans and actors alike that GH writers temporarily reversed course and featured Alan's ghost haunting his sister Tracey. Stuart Damon, Alan's portrayer, has since moved on from the role and is currently a cast member of Days of Our Lives, but will live on in the hearts and minds of GH fans as the timeless and ageless character he helped create and make unforgettable during his over three decades on the soap.

The video featured this week is by YouTuber stargategirl123654, who compiled the final moments and subsequent mourning of the beloved character. A better tribute would be tough to come by.

Once again, if there are any comments, concerns, or suggestions about this feature please don't hesitate to hit me up at alex@ghofs.net. See you all next week!

Casting News - Michael Learned — The Mom from “The Waltons”

Michael Learned is coming to join General Hospital. She will be portraying a cancer patient in her short role. Her name will be “Shirley Smith.” Michael is best known for her role on The Waltons as “Mrs. Olivia Walton,” from 1972-79.

Also, she appeared on ABC's All My Children and One Life to Live in 2005 as the “Honorable Judge Turner.” Some of her other television credits include, St. Elsewhere (1984), Hothouse (1988), Murder, She Wrote (1989), Who's The Boss (1989), Profiler (1998), and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2003). More recently she appeared on the hit NBC series, Scrubs (2006-09) as “Ms. Wilk.”

On GH, “Robin,” “Patrick” and “Lisa” will be sharing Michael’s scenes. Michael will begin taping in mid-March and it should air in early April.

General Hospital SPOILERS and RUMORS - 2.22.10 - A Very Rough Week for Lucky, Sonny, Dante and Robin

Here are some scoops
for Feb 22 - 26…

Lucky tells Maxie how much he loves Elizabeth even though Liz lied to him again. Nikolas is trying to speed up the outcome by asking Liz to have a paternity test. Hmm, who’s the father of Liz’s unborn child?

While all that is going on, Luke worries about his other son. Luke is more concerned about Ethan after he discovers that his son has started working with Johnny. He fears that this will cause a disruption in the Cornithos criminal empire. Luke’s caution won’t do much to discouraged him because Johnny has given him a huge offer. This will soon lead to a confrontation with Jason… Will Johnny refuse to back down? Johnny is able to keep his identity from Max and Milo.

Jason explains to Dante that Sonny has ordered his men to stay away from him... He warns Sonny that Dante is still in very great danger to him. Sonny refuses to stop trying to form a relationship with Dante.

Tracy doesn’t waste time warning Lulu that Dante might be a chip off the old block. Tracy also told her that Dante will have the same bad habit of loving and readily leaving women as his father does. “Like Father Like Son?” Will Lulu’s “stubbornness” cause her to refuse Tracy’s kindness?

Sonny's court day approaches. However, Jax does all he can to pull some strings to make sure that Sonny is finally convicted of the crime of Claudia’s death. Diane realizes that Alexis is helping Jax in his dealings with Sonny’s complicated case.

Robin gets involved with Sonny’s case. She asks Dante to re-think about testifying against his father. This may cause some massive problems with Patrick. Will Lisa be listening to their arguments and waiting for the right moment to comfort Patrick so she can have him for herself?

Dante takes the stand at Sonny’s trial. Can Dante keep his lie about his shooting himself accidental?

Coming Up in the Following Week:

Sam helps steal incriminiating evidence against Sonny from the police

Fan Video of the Week (2/17/10)

While there have been countless traumatic events that have made for compelling TV throughout GH history, one particular event continues to be rehashed given the current storyline. The human element of the story is captured perfectly in this week's featured video. Check it out after the jump

We have seen a lot about Elizabeth's rape on screen lately, especially the immediate aftermath. For those viewers wondering what her life was like after the moment Lucky rescued her from those snow-covered bushes, this video, created by YouTube user amh19805, gives you some answers and does so in a truly compelling way. Hopefully, Liz can remind herself how strong her resolve was back then to help her through her latest crisis before its too late.

As always, if you have any concerns, comments, or recommendations hit me up at alex@ghofs.net. Also, keep an eye out for that new opening theme February 23rd!

Casting News - Kiefer’s Mom - Lisa Waltz

Lisa Waltz has been cast as Kiefer’s mom, “Melissa/Melinda Bauer.” She'll be airing in March.

Before Lisa joins GH, she had appearances on CBS' "The Young and the Restless" in the role of Dr. Mason. The actress has also appeared in numerous television series including "My So-Called Life" and "Ask Harriet." She most recently appeared in the primetime dramas "Castle" and "Lie to Me." She is in the upcoming film, "Head Over Spurs in Love."

Will Lisa‘s character, “Melissa/Melinda Bauer,” be vulnerable to Kiefer’s father, played by Bradley Cole? As you know, some teen abusers follow their role models (parents). If Kiefer thinks it’s all right to abuse his girlfriend, Kristina, then we might see his role models doing the same thing.

General Hospital SPOILERS and RUMORS - 2.15.10 - Liz’s Hysterical Drama

At the end of last Friday’s GH show, we saw Lucky was holding Elizabeth at the church. Are you wondering why Liz did not wake up when Lucky called her name...? Did Liz pass out from having hypothermia (passed out from her severe emotions and guilt)? Let’s see!

Lucky is filled with regret because of Liz. However, Liz gets surprising news... What? Do you think she is pregnant? Lucky and Nikolas are determined to be there for Liz. Liz may be at the end of her rope and admitted to Shadybrook. Therefore, it will be very easy for Helena to take advantage of Liz's fragile state of mind.

Luke becomes really angry when he finds that Helena is back in town! Lucky will be in a rage when he gets behind the wheel of a car. Why??

Carly makes Jax think that she is back with Sonny. Will Jax move out with Josslyn and stay at the hotel? Perhaps, Jax sets out to beat Carly at her own game.

Mac offers Dante a new job. Agent Rayner threatens to force Dante and Olivia to testify against Sonny. Will things get ugly between Sonny and Olivia? Lulu tells Dante thhat he is better off without Sonny. Jason warns Sonny against a plea of justifiable homicide. Johnny furthers his plans to destroy Sonny.

Jason and Sam get a Valentine's Day surprise from Molly and Kristina! Also, Alexis and Mac are caught kissing, but by whom?

Casting News - Maya Ward - Edward Q’s great-granddaughter

“Maya Ward” was mentioned in the previous episode in which Edward Quartermaine talked about his great-granddaughter. An actress, Annie Ilonzeh has been cast to play Maya Ward, granddaughter of Edward's late son Bradley Ward (and niece of the late Justus Ward). Annie used to be on Melrose Place and How I Met Your Mother. Also, in the movies, Annie was on He's Just Not That Into You and then the upcoming movie, Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

In the character of Maya, she’s supposed to be an intelligent girl who has no patience for bad boys (I don’t know why, but she has a good reason for being that way). We will see. In the past episode, from what Edward said, Maya is planning to be a doctor. Expect to see her working at GH. Also, she may be staying at Edward’s/Monica’s gorgeous mansion. ;-)

Fan Video of the Week (2/10/10)

Every so often in our weekly fan video series, we like to highlight the best fantasy YouTube has to offer. Check out the latest fan fiction-themed video after the jump!

This video comes from fan video vet and YouTube user LG541. Within the video, the question is asked, "What would happen if Carly went to jail long term after shooting Dr. Tony Jones and was finally released when Michael was seventeen years old?"

As some newer fans of GH may not be aware, the original Carly was portrayed by now ex-Claudia actress Sara Brown. Shortly after Michael was born, Carly's ex lover and step father, Dr. Tony Jones, kidnapped Michael and was eventually cleared of all charges. Distraught, Carly stole a gun from the court police officer and short him, resulting in near fatal injuries. After spending some time in psychiatric care, Carly was released. This video plays out the scenario where Carly actually went to prison for her actions and missed out on raising her son.

Here's our weekly round up of who said what to whom on Twitter.

Sebastian Roche (Jerry Jacks) - Just finished filming more Fringe in Vancouver.

Derk Cheetwood (Max), Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) and Ronnie Marmo (Det. Ronnie Dimestico) enjoyed watching the Super Bowl together on Sunday.

Many GH'ers tweeted about the torrential rain in LA, but Scott Reeves (Dr. Steve L. Weber) and Brandon Barash (Johnny) both tweeted about the beautiful rainbow over Hollywood on 2/9. Scott even posted the amazing picture (right) on his Twitter page. Brandon mentioned he has begun rehearsal for Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids show in NYC, but he won't tell us the song he intends to sing.

Brianna Brown (Dr. Lisa Niles) shared how to download her Super Bowl ad, and she invited us to enjoy her latest blog post, The Zen of Pole Dancing. (That's vertical ballet where I come from!)  Who knew; Brianna also sings. She sang last week at Cafe Was and was kind enough to share a picture on her Twitter page.

Chrissie Fit (Mercedes) has been visiting family and friends in Miami.

Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) joined Ronnie Marmo (Det. Ronnie Dimestico) and Dominic Zomprogna (Dante) for some Mexican food.

Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) had surgery on Monday for his ruptured Achilles Tendon to repair injuries sufferred on the Soap Cruise. His fiance, Kiera reports Bradford's surgery was successful, and he is resting comfortably. Bradford's injury will be written into the show. Bradford is hoping to walk down the aisle sans crutches in a couple months when he and Kiera wed. Poor Bradford has a really big cast! He tweeted the picture at right. Can we come up with a way to do a virtual cast-signing?

Actor-musician Bradley Cole (ex. Prince Richard Winslow, ex. Jeffrey O'Neill, Guiding Light) announced tonight on Twitter he will be coming soon to General Hospital to play a "Wall Street" type.

Cole will join his former co-star Laura Wright who played Cassie on Guiding Light prior to taking over the role of Carly Corinthos on GH. Wright posted on Twitter, she had just heard about Cole coming to GH and was "super excited"

At this point little is known about the character Cole will play,  but he is reported to start shooting in a couple weeks. His airdates have not been announced, but it sounds like he will be in Port Charles in time for May Sweeps.

With Jax in the doghouse, could Carly be heating up the screen with Cole's character? Could Cole be Sam's long-lost daddy rumored to surface?  Stay tuned.

BREAKING NEWS: Maurice Benard on BuzzWorthy Radio Mon. 2/8

GH's Maurice Benard (Sonny) makes his first appearance on Blog Talk's BuzzWorthy Radio on Monday, February 8 at 10:30 p.m. EST.

BuzzWorthy host Na'Vell J. Lee will host a 15-minute exclusive interview with Emmy-winner Benard about his alter ego, the dangerous, dapper, dimpled Don of daytime.

What's going on in the GH Public Relations Department with this unprecedented non-mainstream access to leading man, Maurice Benard?  Is ABC Daytime finally realizing soap journalism has grown far beyond traditional soap-related print publications? Venues like BlogTalk Radio have provided the infrastructure for grassroots fan-journalists to produce high-quality, live talk shows inexpensively. Many fan-produced shows even feature both guest and listener call-ins. Na'Vell Lee has pioneered in this area with his groundbreaking BuzzWorthy Radio Show. Congratulations to Lee's BuzzWorthy Radio and GH/ABC Daytime for bringing GH closer than ever to its fans.

In another PR push, Benard is also calling one fan a day for the entire month of February. To enter, go to Benard's official website http://mauricebenard.tv/ and register for your chance to chat for 10-15 minutes with Benard. If you are one of the daily winners, you will receive an e-mail the day before he calls.

Fans who chatted with Benard during the first week of February recounted their conversations at Phone Call Contest Winners - Week 1. According to all the delighted winners, Benard is thrilled with his current storyline, and he loves working with Dominic Zamprogna. Benard mentioned he is also excited about his story following February sweeps, but he declined to provide additional details on that upcoming story.  Reportedly, Benard is actually watching GH daily and experiencing the unfolding story in real-time as a fan.

To hear Benard's live interview tonight at 10:30 EST/7:30 PST, go to BuzzWorthy Radio on the internet, or call-in to listen by phone at (646) 595-4228. This is a toll call. If you miss the live interview but want to hear it later, i-Tunes has free access to BuzzWorthy's past episodes at BuzzWorthy on iTunes.

General Hospital SPOILERS and RUMORS - Guess who is back now? 2.8.10

Here are this week’s predictions…

Can Sonny and Dante take steps toward reconciliation? Let's see. Sonny prepares to take the blame to protect Michael's secret because the investigation into Claudia's murder is heating up.

Michael shocks everyone by going to the cops and confessing to Claudia's murder because he doesn't want his dad to take the blame for what he did… Will Mac and Lucky believe him??

Oh my… a rare moment between Elizabeth and Jason! Liz is still a wreck after her breakup with Lucky… Liz will totally melt at Kelly's. Jason's saw Liz grieving. Liz ends up in Jason's arms. Will Sam be looking outside of Kelly's place and sees Jason with Liz AGAIN?

Of course, Lucky is not doing too well and he's still drinking. He gets into a fight with Johnny Zacchara that escalates pretty badly. Someone ends up with a gun in their face when Liz walks in? What will happen when Lucky sees Liz walking in the mess? We will see.

Guess who will be the troublemaker… Helena will then stir everything up even worse between Nikolas, Lucky and Elizabeth.

Johnny decides he wants to take back the power of the Zacchara mob so he can destroy Sonny for killing Claudia.

Coming Soon:
Lucky will be stunned to learn of Liz's pregnancy.
Lulu finds a way to make Valentine's Day special for Dante.
Molly always has a plan in mind.
Nikolas is living up to the Cassadine dark side.
Word of Elizabeth's pregnancy is music to her ears. “She
is hoping the baby-to-be is a Cassadine.“
The issues between Kiefer and Kristina continue to escalate.
Patrick and Robin realize that they haven't made enough "alone" time for themselves, but then again Lisa interrupts.

Fan Video of the Week (2/3/10)

This week, we take some time away from the explosive revelations and stellar acting performances occurring on screen to remember the life and career of one of General Hospital's legacy characters who passed away two years ago this week.

This video comes courtesy of YouTube user csluka88, who created it just days after the news broke that Shell Kepler had passed away from renal failure. Ms. Kepler portrayed Nurse Amy Vining from 1979 until 2004 when contract disputes unfortunately resulted in a less than ceremonial farewell to the GH cast member of 25 years.

Many will remember Nurse Amy fondly as the always pleasant and upbeat nurse who always lent a supportive ear to her fellow co-workers at the hospital. However, she also had deep seated origins in GH lore, growing up side by side with Laura Spencer. They were raised as sisters for their entire childhood, only to find out in 1975 that Laura was actually the long lost daughter of Lesley Webber. Laura had been switched at birth with the tragically deceased Vinings' child and, after a bit of a custody battle, decided to accept Lesley as her mother and move to Port Charles to start a new life with her. By the time Kepler came into the role, Nurse Amy had decided to come to town, as well, in order to spend more time with her former sister and nearly never left. Though the character's departure from the show was left ambiguous and unspoken, the February 26th, 2008, episode of General Hospital was dedicated to her memory. Two years later, our thoughts and prayers still go out to Ms. Kepler's family, and we remain forever thankful for her quarter century of dedicated work on GH.

As always if you have any thoughts or suggestions for the Fan Video of the Week, please email me alex@ghofs.net!

General Hospital SPOILERS and RUMORS - Catastrophes with Corintho‘s Family and Spencer‘s Family - 1.1.10

Here are some spoilers and rumors for this coming week and the next. :-)

The Corinthro’s Family:
Sonny is horrified by his own actions after he found out that Dante is his eldest son. The situation involving Dante and Sonny (as well as Michael, his mother and Jax) will hit Morgan big time. Perhaps, he’ll get angry and confused as are Michael and Kristina. Jason tells Sonny to leave the country before he gets caught… Will Sonny flee the country as Jason asked?

Dante’s life is on the line. Dante could have sworn that Sonny visited and said "I'm your father." However, Dante may be thinking that was not true and maybe he’s having delusions due to his medications. Johnny stands by Olivia in her time of need. However, will Johnny's vow to destroy the Corinthos' organization spell doom for his relationship with Olivia?

Dante takes his anger out on his mom, Olivia. Olivia can take his anger and she's just grateful he is alive. Sam has an idea to protect Sonny from the consequences of his violent actions against Dante.

Michael tells Kristina he’s the one who killed Claudia. Will the truth come out in public if Kiefer overheard Kristina and Michael? Somehow, the truth will come out eventually!

Jax comes clean to Carly that he knew Dante is Olivia‘s and Sonny’s son. Do you think Carly will get all heated up that Jax has kept another secret from her and then walks out on Jax? We’ll see! Michael will probably get furious with Jax for keeping a secret about Dante and Sonny. Alexis unwittingly adds to Michael’s dilemma.

Olivia refuses to take the blame for Sonny's shooting of his own son due to Olivia’s keeping quiet her pregnancy by Sonny all these years. Will Olivia and Dante lie about Sonny’s actions?

The Spencer’s Family:
Luke fears there could be trouble ahead for Lulu because of her love for Dante. Lucky turns his back on Elizabeth and starts drinking heavier. Has Lucky inherited his father’s drinking habit? Ethan‘s feeling of displacement is an opportune moment for Johnny. Will he take it?

Coming Up:
Dante decides not to press charges against Sonny.
Ronnie zeroes in on Olivia.
Lucky continues his downward spiral.
Carly is caught in a compromising position.

February Sweeps from Soap Opera Weekly:
Michael gets a love interest. (oooohhhh)
Dante and Lulu's relationship is taken to the next level.
Luke confronts his parenting skills.
Jax and Carly are forced to deal with their issues while being new parents.
The Kristina/Kiefer story will cast a wider net and involve another family.
Lisa will continue to be a prevalent character, as she and Robin become friends.

Have a good week!
